1st Battalion - Fort Hood, 2007
FORT HOOD, Texas Soldiers role playing
as Iraqi soldiers from the 25th Iraqi Army Division,
along with Soldiers from 3rd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion,
22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team,
4th Infantry Division, pull security while awaiting extraction
from an air assault raid on Fort Hood April 20.
The training served to simulate what the brigades Soldiers
faced in the area northwest of the town of Karbala,
which is located north of Baghdad, Iraq, as the brigade continues
to train during the final week of a three-week field training
exercise.

The Soldiers must complete the 12.6-mile road march in less than
three hours as a prerequisite to competing in the test phase.

FORT HOOD, Texas Pvt. Nicholas Cerbone,
an infantryman with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry
Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, gulps in some
fresh air after a short stay in the gas chamber July 12.
Cerbone, along with fellow Soldiers from his company, trained to
prepare themselves to compete for Expert Infantryman Badges.

right is LTC Matt Elledge (CO 1-22 IN)
in the center is 1SG (Ret) David McNerney, Medal of Honor
recipient.
McNerney earned his MOH on March 22, 1967 while serving as 1SG of
A/1-8 IN.
He is our only living 4ID MOH recipient.
