Ned Stough Williams Jr.

1946 - February 16, 2007

 

 

Ned Stough Wiliiams Jr., a very devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend,
passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Gerrie Davis Williams;
daughter, Amber Williams McConnell and her husband, Rob; son, Ned "Trey" S. Williams 111; sisters, Anda Cochran
and Rosa Hudson; and his five grandchildren, Kathlyn and Emily Capone, Katie, Emily and Nathan McCormell.

He was 61 years old, a native of Charlotte, N.C., and a resident of Slidell for the past 24 years. He was the
Group Vice President and General Manager of Boasso America Corp., Gulf States Intermodal Division
and President of the Louisiana Motor Transportation Association.

He served in the Vietnam War as a U.S. Army Staff Sergeant and received a Purple Heart medal.
He was a life member of the 22nd Infantry Regiment Society.

Mr. Williams was also a longtime member of Aldersgate U.M.C. and its Men's Club. The family
would like to extend a special thanks to their friends, family, his many doctors and the staffs of
Slidell Memorial Hospital and St. Joseph's Hospice for all of the love, support, compassion and
comfort given to Ned and his family during his courageous battle with cancer.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Aidersgate United Methodist
Church, 360 Robert Blvd., Slidell, on Monday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the
church on Monday morning after 9 a.m. until service time. Interment in Hopewell Presbyterian
Church Cemetery, Huniersville, N.C., on Thursday, Feb. 22.

In fieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Men's Club of Adlersgaie U.M.C.
Arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home Inc., Slidell.
