Raymond Harold "Red" Thompson

February 4, 1945 – September 14, 2019

 

 

Raymond Harold Thompson, age 74, a lifetime Atoka, OK resident was born on Sunday, February 4, 1945,
to Joe A. and Fenettie (Hubble) Thompson, at Tushka, OK. Raymond passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2019,
at his home.

Raymond attended Goss and Stringtown schools. He was a truck driver and a rancher. Raymond proudly served his country
in The United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

Raymond was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family.

Raymond is survived by his sisters, Nora "Kathy" Parsons of Aurora, CO, Mildred "Irene" Logue of Atoka, OK,
Joyce Doane of Atoka, OK; brother, Floyd Wayne Thompson and wife Louise of Vancouver, WA; Raymond is also survived
by 29 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, his very special grandchildren, as well as other beloved family and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Joe A. and Fenettie (Hubble) Thompson; brothers, Orrin Thompson, James Thompson,
Freeman Thompson, Robert Thompson; sister, Zelpha Briggs; brothers in law, Robert Briggs, Jimmy Logue, Bill Doane;
sister in law, Boots Thompson.
