John A. Symons

August 27, 1948 - September 27, 2023

 

 

John “Jack” A. Symons, age 75 of Gratiot, died Wednesday September 27, 2023 at U.W. Hospital Madison.
He was born on August 27, 1948 in Cuba City, the son of Charles and Francis (Miller) Symons.
He graduated from Gratiot High School. He served in the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam war
from 1968 to 1969. John married Mary E. Teasdale on May 20, 1972 in Monroe. John farmed for John Deetz
for many years and also worked at Industrial Combustion, Dorman Roth, and he retired from Wisconsin Cheese.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and golfer. He belonged to the Gratiot American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Mary of Gratiot; brothers, Terry Symons of Hollywood, FL;
sister, Carole (Al) Sanders of Orange Park, FL; several in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James and Tom Symons, and sister, Kathy Seaworth; and his four legged girl, Sunnie.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, October 6, 2023 at SHRINER HAGER GOHLKE Funeral Home
with Pastor Kevin Cernek officiating. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm.

The family would like to thank the VA Hospital and U.W. Cardiac I.C.U. staff for all their effort and support.
