Frank Dean Spink
Frank Dean Spink, Plainfield, Indiana passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at his home.
Frank was preceded in death by
his beloved wife Judith Ann (Scott) Spink. He was a loving
husband, father, Grandfather,
brother, uncle and friend to all. Frank was a Decorated Veteran
of the Vietnam War where he earned several medals,
among them the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was presented
the belated Silver Star Medal in 2012 for his brave actions
on June 13, 1968. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the
Army never left him, as friends and family will attest.
When he returned from Vietnam, he resumed a more normal life with
his wife. They welcomed children in 1969 and 1972.
After the children were older Judith returned to work and he
became a stay-at-home father, which was a trailblazing occupation
in the 70s. He applied the organization skills honed in the
Army to run a clean and efficient household.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Gleaners Food Bank in Indianapolis in lieu of flowers.
3737 Waldemere Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46241.
Burial is private. The family
invites you to gather and share your memories of Frank, Saturday,
March 25, 2017,
at the Plainfield Recreation Center, Room 139A, 651 Vestal Rd,
Plainfield, IN 46168 from 2:00PM - 4:00PM.
