Glen Roberts in Vietnam

I remember Glen most fondly. He was a good man and a good soldier.

I came to the platoon in Nov '69, Glen had been there since June. He was an old timer, a seasoned vet, and I was an FNG.
Glen was a member of Jesse Johnson's M60 gun team, along with Jack Phelps, James Carter and later Steve Wach,
Jim Killian and Bob Holloway.

Most of my memories of Glen revolve around the playing of bid whist, a really popular card game that Glen thoroughly enjoyed
as did I. Jack Phelps and Bob Holloway were also often involved in these games. Our platoon leader Lieutenant McKeown
also loved whist and could often be found involved in a spirited game.

Gary "Stoney" Stonemetz shared the following.

In mid to late June 1969, Greg Bodell was attacked by a tiger, forever after he was known as Tiger Man.

In 2009 Glen and Stoney were sharing emails and Glen wrote the following account:

" It was my first green eye (3-man Listening Post/Obsevation Post many clicks from the nearest Firebase).
I still remember Greg screaming that something had grabbed him. The size of those tiger tracks I will never forget,
plus the fact I was scared more than I care to admit. There is no doubt in my mind that tiger could have easily killed
all three of us if  it wanted to. I believe when it swiped at Greg, it also took his blanket with him. After Greg recovered
and came back all he wanted to do was walk point. I guess he figured if he can survive a tiger attack that nothing else could hurt him."
