Herbert Lloyd Martin

Herbert Lloyd Martin, age 76 died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Columbus, Mississippi.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel College St. Chapel with
Dr. Shawn Parker officiating, burial with full U.S. Army Honors will follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus.

Mr. Martin was born on Friday, October 16, 1942 in Waco, TX to the late Blake and Frances Maurine Miley Martin.

He was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant, having served in the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star,
and Silver Star. Herbert was wounded in action in 1967. He was an active member of 4th Infantry Division’s Combat Service.
He was very active in the VFW traveling all over with country reuniting with other veterans.

He was an avid bowler, and in 2007 was inducted into the Mississippi State U.S. Bowling Congress.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Diane Oliver Martin.

Survivors include:

Cousin - Jeanne Marcantel (Ronnie), Tomball, TX

And a host of other extended family members
