Chester E. Hammond Sr. died of heart failure at the VA Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi
on February 19, 2018.

Funeral services for Chester E. Hammond, Sr., of Winona were held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, in the
Lizzie Sanders Memorial Chapel in Winona, with Pastor Kelvin Wright officiating. Burial followed in the
North Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Kilmichael.

Visitation was from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Monday, February 26 at Sanders and Sanders Funeral Home in Winona
and from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. There was no viewing after the eulogy.

Chester had been living in the VA Home in Jackson MS for several years. His brothers brought him to our last two reunions.
In fact, for our 2017 reunion in Rapid City SD, he was there with his brother and his VA Nurse. He had a wonderful time.
