Gilbert A. Brown, 72, of Lake
Odessa passed unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, August 7,
2021.
Gil was born on May 13, 1949 to Ralph and Odelie (Rournpz) Brown
in Hazel Park, MI.
Gil proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam
War. In 1981, Gil married Shirley Dodde
and she preceded him in death in 2020. He worked for many years
in the United States Postal Service
retiring as the Post Master in Lowell. Recently Gil had enjoyed
spending time in Arizona with Shirley.
He also had a passion for shooting, fishing, hunting and
collecting antiques. Gil also enjoyed blacksmithing,
making pocketknives. Gil was an avid reader especially of the
Jack Reacher series and history books.
Gil will be dearly missed by:
his children Erin (Randy) Fosburg, Samuel Brown and Richard
Brown,
grandchildren: James, Aiyana, Cheyana and Savanna, siblings:
Marlene Cartwright, Paul (Lori) Brown, Mark (Gale) Brown,
Kathy Klopp, Estelle Oliver and Ralph Wayne Brown, along with
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by: his
wife Shirley and his parents Ralph and Odelie.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Gils life will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel with full Military Honors on August 28th, 2021 at 11am.
Memorials in Gils name can given to the Jackson-Muchler VFW Post 4461.
