Robert L. Bostwick was born on July 2, 1946 and died from cancer on
June 18, 1997. His remains were buried in Riverside National Cemetery
on June 27, 1997.

He was known to his fellow soldiers as "Stretch". He is remembered by Jim Henderson:

Stretch was 6' 5", I think it was. Weighed about 130. California all the way and heck of a likeable guy.
Great at old movie and TV trivia questions.

My friend Paul Flarety, who was extremely sarcastic, always called him Stench instead of Stretch
and would draw the pronunciation out long and slow - you would have had to hear it to get the full effect but it was hilarious!
When I had been home a couple of years I started going to the local Community College. I had a creative writing course
and I wrote a story about Stretch. ...I titled my paper "The Stench of War", ...It was a light hearted piece about how funny
and goofy Stretch was! And he was! Man, he was so clumsy he couldn't walk across the room without tripping over his own feet!
Put a 90 lb ruck on his back and send him down a mountain and it was all arms and legs! What a hoot he was.
