Gary Rabideau -- C Company 4th Platoon -- 1970-1971
We are finally in the
metal barracks at Tuy Hoa.
This is a picture of LT Donahue (from Boston) returning the
salute of
Wymore, Pitt, Wetherbee & Ron Moran (Kraut) & unknown
guy.
This picture was set up just to get his picture.
Military Payment Certificate (MPC) worth 10 cents.
My wife and I got
married on May 29, 1970 (my birthday). I reported to Oakland, CA,
three days late. They let that slide. I went to meet her in
Hawaii in February, nine months later.
That was a great honeymoon even though I still had a few months
left in Nam.
This is how she looked in Hawaii. I'm still proud to have her for
my wife.
Our pool was on the 9th floor of the hotel Kahuio in Waikiki.
This pic shows some surrounding hotels in Hawaii.
In March 1971 I got a
new camera from the Post Exchange and started taking 35mm
pictures.
Before that I was using an old Kodak Instamatic 110.
Playing cards during a storm. "Spud" on the left, Rick Smith in the center.
Jim (Pops) Weimer &
Jack Case (Six Pack)
getting some sun in barracks area Tuy Hoa.
Tex, after he shaved off
his moustache. He was on our machine gun team.
