Camp Enari, Feb 10, 1968. In the foreground with the camera is Jimmie C. Lyles.
DEROS - Soldiers preparing to get on the bus that would take them to the C-130 aircraft
which would bring them to the out-processing center to leave Vietnam.

 

October 1967 - In right of photo, Roger Cook behind the wheel, Richard L.W. Mangel
directly behind him in jeep. Going on MEDCAP to hamlet outside of Camp Enari to promote good will.

 

This is a picture taken by Combat Medic Specialist Fifth Class Rodney Duane Grage
of two, First and Twenty-Second, Second Brigade, 4th Infantry Division Headquarters
and Headquarters Company Medics under Battalion Surgeon Captain Howard P. Schiele,
attached to Charlie Company, commanded by Infantry Captain James P. Stapleton Jr.
(a West Point Graduate) and led by Brigade Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas G.
Rosell, on a "Search and Destroy" mission during Operation Sam Houston (March-April year 1967),
in Kontum and Pleiku Provinces, Republic of South Vietnam. These two Medics were taking a break
at a Montagnard village during a thirty-eight day "Search and Destroy" mission. Terry Suire (on the right)
was a recipient of an earned Bronze Star, and Richard Mangel (on the left) was the recipient of an earned
Army Commendation Medal, respectively. A life is saved, a life is taken. All for now, Richard.
