1st Battalion Iraq May 2008

 

 

FOB FALCON, Iraq (June 1, 2008) - Maj. Mark Thompson, operations officer,
1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, meets with Maj. Shakir, commander of the 2nd Bn., 43rd Bde,
11th Iraqi Army Div., May 30 to discuss an ongoing clearing operation in the Jihad community
of the Rashid district in southern Baghdad. The Military Transition Team coaches and advises
the IA leaders who are working to provide security and safety for the estimated 1.2 million people
in the Rashid district.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq – Spc. Alyssa Lefever,
a human resource specialist assigned to the 1st Special Troops Battalion,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad,
teaches the art of the hula dance to Sgt. 1st Class Mark Biggins, a human resource specialist
assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st BCT, 4th Inf. Div., during an Asian-Pacific Heritage Month celebration May 31
in the Raider Café at Forward Operating Base Falcon, Baghdad. Raider Brigade Soldiers enjoyed music
by Dark Horse, a contemporary Christian band, and a special performance dance by Lefever.

Forward Operating Base Falcon May 18th, 2008
Sgt. Leonardo Avalos, an infantryman assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment,
1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad,
works his way down the chow line May 18 at a combat outpost in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.
