Alton Zerangue----A 1/22 1967
SSG Alton J. Zerangue Jr. was
killed in action, along with 21 other soldiers of 1st Battalion,
on February 16, 1967, when Alpha Company fought an engagement
with an enemy force
of Battalion to Regiment size.
SSG Zerangue's squad was point
squad for the Company during that battle.
For his actions that day SSG Zerangue was posthumously awarded
the Silver Star for Valor.
