Taken on our convoy back to the Oasis, early February 1967
(Alpha Company guys riding on truck from 4/42 Artillery)

 

Last and only picture of Lee Lewis.
This was our order of march and he was beside me when he got hit.
The photo was taken at the LZ that we were inserted into on the morning of Feb 16th.
Note the long shadows due to low, morning sun angle.
At this point we were just a few hours from the ambush.
