Captured weapons adorn a wall in the 1-22 Infantry tactical operations center in Tikrit. The arsenal ranges from a modern AK-47 assault rifle to an antiquated bazooka, to handguns and even a sword. Until they are demilitarized and sent home through proper channels, they serve as an unofficial tally of their successes and help to familiarize soldiers with the weapons they could expect to see out on the street. Many of the items confiscated by 1-22 in the course of operations will be donated to the 4th Infantry Division Museum, The National Infantryman’s Museum at Fort Benning and their own regimental museum.
