Michael Werner

Company B 22nd Infantry

DOW 07/02/1898

Private Michael Werner was born in Prussia, Germany on September 1, 1860.
He came to live in the United States at some time between 1860 and 1870.

(Note: His last name is given in both of his enlistment records as Warner.)

He enlisted in Company B 22nd Infantry for a period of five years on November 20, 1890
at Minneapolis, Minnesota. His enlistment record indicated he had dark brown eyes, dark
brown hair, a ruddy complexion and stood 5 feet 10 ¾ inches tall. Though his record shows
that he was listed as a deserter on March 24, 1892 and apprehended the next day on March 25,
he was given an honorable discharge at Fort Harrison, Montana upon expiration of his current
enlistment, his discharge being dated November 20, 1895, with a character qualification of "Good."
