George W. Strother

George W. Strother was born in Crawford County, Indiana in 1874.

He enlisted for a period of 3 years as a Private in Company C of the 22nd Infantry on April 29, 1897
at Louisville, Kentucky. His enlistment record indicated that he stood 5 feet 8 ¼ inches tall, had dark brown hair,
blue eyes and a fair complexion. His previous occupation was listed as Farmer.

Private Strother died of typhoid fever aboard the Hospital Ship Olivette on July 10, 1898.
