Ohmer Stephen Strawser was born in Darke County, Ohio on April 14, 1911.

He listed his home of residence as Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.
He was married. His religion was listed as Protestant.

Prior to entering military service he was employed at the Di-Mold Corporation in Dayton, Ohio.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

The application for his grave marker indicates he entered military service on July 16, 1942.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal as a Private in Company B,
in Headquarters 22nd Infantry General Orders No. 14 dated December 31, 1943
at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

 

Private First Class Strawser was killed in action in France during the battle for Cherbourg.

In addition to his wife Naomi he was survived by a son who was born in September 1944.

Blossville Cemetery at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Ohio.
