born to Alex and Sophie Strauss. His home was listed as 59 Reid Ave., Brooklyn, Kings County, New York.
His religion was listed as Hebrew.
Private Strauss was listed as
missing in action in Germany on February 12, 1945.
His status was later changed to killed in action.

indicating that he died in Germany at the age of eighteen.
Leon Strauss was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
