Thomas Soldier was born on March 18, 1919.

His Army serial number indicates he enlisted in the Regular Army prior to the
Selective Service Act of 1940.

His record of interment indicates he entered the Army on June 1, 1940.

In the records of the 22nd Infantry his home town was listed as
Wittenburg, Wisconsin. His religion was listed as Protestant.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in Headquarters 22nd Infantry Motorized General Orders No. 5,
dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Technician 5th Grade Thomas Soldier was killed in action in France,
near the town of La Maugerie, during the attack toward the town of Periers
on July 11, 1944.

Thomas Soldier was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Illinois on July 29, 1948.
