Charles S. Slemmons

Charles S. Slemmons was born in Leslie, Cumberland County, Kentucky in September of 1880.

He enlisted for a period of 3 years as a Private in Company A of the 22nd Infantry at Lexington, Kenctucky
on November 29, 1898. His enlistment record indicated that he stood 5 feet 10 ¼ inches tall, had brown hair,
brown eyes and a fair complexion. His previous occupation was listed as Farmer.

He began duty with Company A of the 22nd Infantry at Fort Crook, Nebraska on December 1, 1898.

Private Slemmons died of spinal meningitis at the Post Hospital at Fort Crook, Nebraska on January 6, 1899.

 

 

Charles S. Slemmons was buried in the cemetery at Fort Crook, which is now Offutt Air Force Base Cemetery.
