Alexander Sinclair Jr. was born in Dundee, Scotland on November 29, 1920.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by the Package Machine Company
in Springfield, Massachusetts.
He was drafted into the Army on
April 7, 1944 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
He listed his home of residence as Springfield, Hampden County,
Massachusetts, and
his civilian occupation as Skilled Occupations In The Manufacture
Of Miscellaneous Products.
He had completed four years of High School and was single with no
dependents.
His religion was listed as Protestant. At the time of induction
he was an American citizen.
He was assigned to Company C
22nd Infantry from the 92nd Replacement Battalion
on November 27, 1944.
He was transferred to Company A on December 6, 1944.
Private Sinclair was killed in
action in Germany, during the battle for the city of Prüm,
on February 6, 1945.
Alexander Sinclair Jr. was
originally buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium in Block B Row 8 Grave 193 and
his remains were
later transferred and buried at Henri-Chappele, in the 1947-1949
time frame, when the temporary
cemeteries were shut down.
