Gelardo Scotti was born in Italy
in 1923. He was drafted into the Army on October 2, 1944
at New York City, New York. At the time of his induction he was a citizen of the United States.
His home of residence was listed as Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. He had completed
three years of High School and was single with no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.
Private Scotti was killed in action in Germany, near Bad Mergentheim, on April 2, 1945.

Gelardo Scotti was buried in the
temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
