Alexander John Saulin was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1914.

He was drafted into the Army on February 21, 1941 at Trenton, New Jersey.
His home of residence was listed as Cumberland County, New Jersey
and his civilian occupation was listed as drivers and chauffeurs, bus,
taxi, truck and tractor. He had completed grammar school and was married.
His religion was listed as Catholic.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal as a Private First Class in Company C,
in Headquarters 22nd Infantry General Orders No. 14 dated December 31, 1943
at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

Private First Class Saulin was killed in action in France, during the attack on Cherbourg
on June 29, 1944.

Alexander J. Saulin was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Blosville Cemetery at Carentan, France and later his remains were returned
to the United States where he was interred in New Jersey on June 3, 1949.
