Anthony John Sanderbeck Jr. was born in Alliance, Stark/Mahoning County, Ohio on May 18, 1926.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by Stump's Service Station
in Rochester, Pennsylvania.
He was drafted into the Army on
October 5, 1944 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His home of
residence was listed
as Beaver, Pennsylvania and his civilian occupation was listed as
student. He had completed
four years of High School and was single with no dependents. His
religion was listed as Catholic.
Private Sanderbeck was killed in action in Germany, near Bad Mergentheim, on April 2, 1945.
Anthony J. Sanderbeck Jr. was
buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Saint Avold Cemetery, Metz, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Pennsylvania.
