Henry Walter Ryndak was born in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois on September 19, 1916.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by Arnold Schwin & Company
in Chicago, Illinois.
He was drafted into the Army on
February 24, 1942 at Camp Grant, Illinois. His home of residence
was listed
as Chicago, Illinois. He had completed one year of High School
and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.
He was assigned to Company A
from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool
on June 17, 1944.
Private Ryndak was killed in
action in France, during the attack against Cherbourg
on June 21, 1944.
Henry W. Ryndak was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #1 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Illinois on June 5, 1948.
