Robert J. Ryan was born in New York in 1926. His home of residence was listed as
Brooklyn, Kings County, New York. He was drafted into the Army on August 9, 1944
at New York City, New York. He had completed three years of High School and was
single with no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.

Private Ryan was killed in action in Germany during the battle for the city of Prüm
on February 12, 1945.

 

Robert J. Ryan was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
