Nicholas Joseph Rousselle was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 11, 1911.
Prior to entering military service he was employed by Federal Glass Company in Columbus.
He was drafted into the Army on
November 23, 1943 at Columbus, Ohio. His home of residence was
listed as
Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio and his civilian occupation was
listed as Skilled Mechanics And Repairmen.
He had completed one year of High School and was married. His
religion was listed as Catholic.
He was assigned to Company C as
a Private from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool
on July 11, 1944.
Private First Class Rousselle
was killed in action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen
Forest
on November 27, 1944.
Nicholas J. Rousselle was
originally buried in the temporary cemetery at Henri-Chapelle
in Block CC Row 5 Grave 93, and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Henri-Chapelle,
in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were
shut down.
