George William Roth was born in Hume, Edgar County, Illinois on April 27, 1911.

His home of residence was listed as Indianapolis, Indiana.
His religion was listed as Protestant.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

He was assigned to Company A from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 27, 1944.

Private Roth was killed in action in Germany in an area south of Weinsheim
on March 3, 1945.

George W. Roth's older brother Dall G. "Dallas" Roth was killed in action the next day, March 4, 1945,
in Germany in the vicinity of the town of Enzen, while serving in Company C 309th Infantry
78th Infantry Division .

George W. Roth was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and in 1949 his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Illinois on April 6, 1949.
