Paul E. Riley was born in Marion, Marion County, Ohio on September 20, 1919.

He enlisted in the Regular Army on March 7, 1939 at Corbin, Kentucky, for service in the Panama Canal Department.
His home of residence was listed as Marion County, Ohio. He was listed as a widower with no dependents.
He had attained an unspecified level of college education. His religion was listed as Protestant.

He was assigned to Company B as a Staff Sergeant from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 27, 1944.

Staff Sergeant Riley was killed in action in Luxembourg on December 26, 1944
during the Battle of the Bulge.

 

 

Paul E. Riley was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Grand Failly Cemetery, Longuyon, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Ohio.
