Calvin Raymond Reitzer was born in D'Hanis, Medina County, Texas on March 12, 1926.
Prior to entering military
service he was a civilian employee with the U.S. Government
at the Hondo Navigation School in Hondo, Texas.
He was drafted into the Army
August 31, 1944 at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
He listed his home of residence as D'Hanis, Medina County, Texas
and his civilian
occupation as farm hands, general farms. He had completed one
year of High School and
was single with no dependents. His religion was listed as
Catholic.
He was assigned to Company A from the 48th Replacement Battalion on February 8, 1945.
Private Reitzer was killed in
action in Germany in an area south of Weinsheim
on March 3, 1945.

Calvin R. Reitzer was originally
buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Foy Cemetery, Bastogne, Belgium and later his remains were
returned to the
United States where he was reinterred in Texas on June 21, 1949.
