Thomas Menenin Pierce Jr. was born in Ingersoll, Oxford County, Ontario, Canada on November 1, 1915.
He was drafted into the Army on
October 1, 1943 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He listed his home
of residence as Cornwell Heights, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and
his civilian occupation as
semi-skilled occupation in the production of rubber goods. He had
completed four years of High School
and was married. His religion was listed as Protestant. At the
time of induction he was a U.S. citizen.
He sailed overseas in March 1944.
Private Pierce was killed in action in France, on July 10, 1944, during the operation to seize the town of Periers.

Thomas M. Pierce Jr. was buried
in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and his remains were
later returned to the
United States where he was interred in Virginia on January 27,
1949.
