George Allen Perdue was born in Wrightsville, Johnson County, Georgia on March 9, 1919.
He was drafted into the Army on
January 17, 1942 at Camp Blanding, Florida. He listed his home of
residence as
Wrens, Georgia. He had completed grammar school and was single
with dependents. his religion was listed as Protestant.
He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal in Headquarters 22nd Infantry Motorized General Orders No.
5,
dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Sergeant Perdue was killed in
action in France during 1st Battalion's attack against the
Quineville ridge
on June 15, 1944.

George A. Perdue was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #1 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Georgia.
