Warren Albert Olson was born in Star Prairie, St. Croix County, Wisconsin on June 3, 1921.
He was drafted into the Army on
December 4, 1942, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He listed his home of
residence as Star Prairie,
St. Croix County, Wisconsin, and his civilian occupation as
Semiskilled Occupations In The Manufacture
Of Miscellaneous Products. He had completed four years of High
School and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Protestant.
He was assigned to Company A as
a Private First Class, from the 4th Infantry Division replacement
pool
on July 15, 1944.
He was wounded in action on July
29, 1944 and returned to duty
on August 15, 1944.
Private First Class Olson was
killed in action in Germany, near Brandscheid, on September 14,
1944,
during the 22nd Infantry's first penetration into Germany.
Warren A. Olson was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Fosse Cemetery, Namur, Belgium and some time later his remains
were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Wisconsin.
