Eugene F. Nolan

Eugene Francis Nolan was born in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee on April 22, 1917.

Prior to entering military service he was employed as the manager of the Auto Parts & Service Company
in Gallatin, Tennessee.

He was drafted into the Army on May 28, 1941 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. His home of residence
was listed as Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, and his civilian occupation was listed as
Retail Managers. He had completed three years of High School and at the time of induction
was single with no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.

He was married in December 1941 to Mary Frances Jackson.

He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in Headquarters 22nd Infantry Motorized General Orders No. 5,
dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

Sergeant Nolan died on December 22, 1944 of wounds received in action on the Belgian/German border.

Eugene F. Nolan was originally buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Fosse Cemetery, Namur, Belgium in Block J Row 7 Grave 135 and his remains were later
transferred and buried in Henri-Chapelle, in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary
cemeteries were shut down.
