Max Edwin Neidhardt was born in Hicksville, Defiance County, Ohio on July 28, 1925.

Prior to entering military service he was employed by the Magnavox Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was drafted into the Army on October 6, 1943 at Indianapolis, Indiana. His home of residence
was listed as New Haven, Allen County, Indiana and his civilian occupation was listed as
Semiskilled Occupations In Manufacture Of Automobiles. He had completed
four years of High School and was single with no dependents. His religion
was listed as Protestant.

He was assigned to Company C from the 4th Infantry Division
replacement pool on June 13, 1944.

Private Neidhardt died of wounds received in action in France on July 10, 1944.

Max E. Neidhardt was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Indiana on July 9, 1948.
