Julius Neiderman Jr. was born in East Bernstadt, Laurel County, Kentucky on May 29, 1919.

He was drafted into the Army on June 1, 1942 at Cincinnati, Ohio. His home of residence was listed as East
Bernstadt, Laurel County, Kentucky. His civilian occupation was listed as Semiskilled Miners, And
Mining-machine Operators. He had completed grammar school and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.

He was assigned to Company D from the 4th Infantry Division
replacement pool on June 13, 1944.

He is listed in the Morning Reports for Company D as being a non-battle casualty
on August 12, 1944 and returned to duty on August 15, 1944.

Private First Class Neiderman is listed in the 22nd Infantry After Action Report of September 1944 on page 13
of the casualty list as Missing In Action on September 17, 1944.

Julius "Hammer" Neiderman, Jr.'s Story
Army, Julius entered the service July 1, 1942, received his basic training at Camp Wolters, Texas, and landed in England
October 14, 1942. On September 17, 1944, his parents recieved a message from the war Department reporting that he was missing;
but later they received a letter from John R. Straub telling them that Julius, known as "Porky" in his outfit (the 22nd Infantry)
was a German prisoner, but could give no further details.
