Vincent John Moran was born in San Francisco, San Francisco County, California on January 22, 1912.

Prior to entering military service he was a civilian employee in the Finance Office of the War Department,
at Fort Mason in San Francisco.

He was drafted into the Army on June 26, 1942 at San Francisco, California. His home of residence was listed as
San Francisco County, California and his civilian occupation was listed as Paymasters, Payroll Clerks,
And Timekeepers. He had completed one year of college and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.

Private Moran was killed in action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest,
on November 28, 1944.

 

 

He was originally buried in the temporary cemetery at Henri-Chapelle, Belgium
in Block 11 Row 9 Grave 168 and was moved to the permanent cemetery at
Henri-Chapelle in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
