Alvin Ira Milliron was born in South Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania on June 30, 1925.
His religion was listed as Protestant.
Before entering military service
he was employed by the Pennsylvania Rubber Company
in Jeannette, Pennsylvania.
He was drafted into the Army on November 16, 1943 at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
He sailed overseas on April 10, 1944.
He was assigned to Company A
from the 4th Infantry Division replacement pool
on June 30, 1944.
Private Alvin I. Milliron was
killed in action on July 13, 1944, during the advance
toward the town of Perriers, France.
Alvin I. Milliron was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and later his remains
were returned to the
United States where he was reinterred in Pennsylvania on July 21,
1948.
