Maurice Edward Miller was born in Venice Township, Seneca County, Ohio on January 10, 1920.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by the Pioneer Rubber Company
in Attica, Ohio.
He was drafted into the Army on
January 8, 1942 at Camp Perry, Lacarne, Ohio. His home of
residence
was listed as Attica, Ohio. He had completed one year of High
School and was single with
no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.
Private Miller was killed in
action in France, during the attack against Cherbourg
on June 21, 1944.

Maurice E. Miller was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery
Sainte Mere-Eglise #1 at Carentan, France in Block O Row 6 Grave
118 and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer, in the 1947-1949 time frame, when
the temporary cemeteries were shut down.
