Arthur Francis McCarron was born in Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts on January 5, 1925.

He was drafted into the Army on July 19, 1943 at Boston, Massachusetts. His home of residence was listed
as Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. He had completed grammar school and was single with no dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.

Private McCarron was killed in action in France during the attack on Cherbourg,
along the Ste. Pierre Eglise-Cherbourg road on June 25, 1944.

 

 

Arthur F. McCarron was buried in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Massachusetts.
