Samuel J. Maccarone was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania on September 8, 1913.

He was drafted into the Army on September 17, 1943 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His home of residence
was listed as Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and his civilian occupation was listed as
Barbers, Beauticians, And Manicurists. He had completed three years of High School
and was married. His religion was listed as Catholic.

The application for his World War II compensation from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
filed by his wife in 1950 stated he had shipped overseas on June 24, 1944.

He was assigned to Company D from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 21, 1944.

Private Maccarone was killed in action in Germany during the
Battle of the Hürtgen Forest on November 28, 1944.
