John Joseph Lynch Jr. was born in New York City, New York on April 1, 1920.
Prior to entering military
service he was employed by the Scovill Manufacturing Company
in Waterbury, Connecticut.
He was drafted into the Army on
May 22, 1944 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. His home of residence
was listed
as New Haven County, Connecticut and his civilian occupation was
listed as Skilled Occupations
In Electroplating, Galvanizing, And Related Processes. He had
completed three years of
High School and was single with no dependents. His religion was
listed as Catholic.
He was assigned to Company B from the 92nd Replacement Battalion on November 21, 1944.
Private Lynch was killed in
action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen Forest
on November 28, 1944.

John J. Lynch Jr. was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Henri-Chapelle Cemetery, Eupen, Belgium and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Connecticut.
