John Joseph Lawlor was born in Derby, New Haven County, Connecticut on September 21, 1919.
He enlisted in the Coast
Artillery Corps of the Regular Army for service in the
Panama Canal Zone, on November 5, 1940 at New York City. His home
of residence
was listed as Meadowmere, Bronx, New York and his civilian
occupation was listed as
Farm hands, general farms. He had completed grammar school and
was single with
no dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.
Private Lawlor was killed in
action in Germany on December 3, 1944, the last day
of the 22nd Infantry's participation in the Battle of the
Hürtgen Forest.

buried in the temporary cemetery at Henri-Chapelle
in Block QQ Row 8 Grave 147, and was moved to the permanent
cemetery at Henri-Chapelle,
in the 1947-1949 time frame, when the temporary cemeteries were
shut down.
