Peter Paul Kulikowski was born
in East Pike Run Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania
on October 8, 1911.
He was drafted into the Army on
April 24, 1942, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His home of
residence
was listed as Washington County, Pennsylvania and his civilian
occupation was listed as electrician.
He had completed four years of High School and was single with no
dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.
The date of his assignment to
the 22nd Infantry is unknown but he was with the Regiment
at least by December 1942 as his name is listed in a Company
roster on a menu for the
Christmas Dinner of Company A 22nd Infantry at Camp Gordon,
Georgia in December 1942. *
He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal in as a Private First Class in Headquarters 22nd Infantry
General Orders No. 5 dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
He was promoted to Staff Sergeant in Normandy on June 25, 1944.
Staff Sergeant Kulikowski was
killed in action in the vicinity of Les Forges/La Maugerie,
Normandy, France,
on July 11, 1944.

Peter P. Kulikowski was buried
in the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #2 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in West Virginia on July 20, 1948.
