Nicholas Kryivski was born in Edwardsville, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on April 3, 1911.
He was drafted into the Army on
March 3, 1941 at Jamaica, New York. His home of residence as
listed as East Port,
Suffolk County, New York and his civilian occupation was listed
as Farm Hands, General Farms.
He had completed grammar school and was single with no
dependents. His religion was listed as Catholic.
He was awarded the Good Conduct
Medal in Headquarters 22nd Infantry Motorized General Orders No.
5,
dated June 8, 1943 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Private First Class Kryivski was
killed in action in France during the attack against Cherbourg
on June 23, 1944.

Nicholas Kryivski was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Sainte Mere-Eglise #1 at Carentan, France and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in New York.
