William C. Kemp was born in
Madison, Ohio on September 18, 1921. He was drafted into the Army
on April 19, 1943 at Columbus, Ohio. His home of residence was listed as Madison County, Ohio
and his civilian occupation was listed as Semiskilled Chauffeurs And Drivers, Bus, Taxi, Truck,
And Tractor. He had completed grammar school and was single with dependents.
His religion was listed as Catholic.
Private First Class Kemp was
killed in action in Germany during the Battle of the Hürtgen
on November 18, 1944.
William C. Kemp was buried in
the temporary U.S. Military Cemetery,
Henri-Chapelle Cemetery, Eupen, Belgium and some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was
reinterred in Ohio.
