1879
at Fort Gibson, Indian Territory. His enlistment record indicated
that he stood 5 feet 7 inches tall, had
black hair, hazel eyes and a dark complexion. His previous
occupation was listed as Mason.
Private Hurley died of Typhoid
fever which originated in the Line of Duty at Fort Gibson, Indian
Territory
on September 9, 1879
