Ralph Edward Hooker was born in Crowley, Acadia Parish, Louisiana on September 23, 1910.

He listed his home of residence as Nashville, Tennessee.

His religion was listed as Protestant.

Before entering military service he was employed by the Southern Wooden Ware Company
in Nashville, Tennessee.

His Army serial number indicates he was drafted into the Army.

Private Hooker was killed in action in France during the fighting in the
hedgerow countryside of Normandy on July 10, 1944.

Ralph E. Hooker was originally buried in the temporary military cemetery
Saint Mere Eglise Cemetery # 2 at Carentan, France. Some time later
his remains were returned to the United States where he was reinterred
in Tennessee.
